Dan Decleva

Special Counsel

Dan is a Special Counsel in the Personal Injury - Compensation team in our Melbourne office, having practised exclusively in this area of law for over 16 years.

Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Dan was a Partner at Rogers and Gaylard and Dibbs Abbott Stillman.

Dan joined Sparke Helmore in August 2007 and brings with him expert knowledge from previously working at the Transport Accident Commission.

Dan's career has been dedicated to the performance of work in the personal injury jurisdiction on behalf of institutional clients and at Sparke Helmore on behalf of self-insurers. Dan has also performed work on behalf of the Victorian Workcover Authority and now represents self-insurers in the Workcover scheme.

Dan handles litigation files commensurate with his skill and experience. He understands clients' expectations and tailors his approach to their individual needs and the circumstances of an individual case. He has conducted litigation and negotiations in various jurisdictions relevant to personal injury law. He has previously conducted numerous seminars for clients to ensure that they are kept abreast of the latest developments.

Dan has taken several opportunities to work closely with the Workplace team to assist in providing comprehensive and co-ordinated advice to clients.

Dan's clients include Ford Motor Company, Qantas, Coles Group, BlueScope Steel, Goodman Fielder, Burns Philp, Symbion Health, National Australia Bank and Brambles.

Dan is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
