Mark Darras

Mark is widely renowned for possessing a strong understanding of the client's world and their business environment. He provides strategic advice and guidance on workplace change, commercial dispute resolution and the responsibilities of directors, and also advises both on preparing trade practices compliance programs and on trade practices and competition law issues generally.

Mark is known for his commercial focus. He has completed off-site arrangements with clients, and this has enabled him to gain first hand insights into the broad range of issues which confront business, and the importance of tailoring timely and cost effective legal and commercial solutions. By possessing a strong service orientated approach to the law, Mark is able to communicate effective solutions to assist clients in their decision making.

Prior to the law, Mark was a senior strategy executive with Goodman Fielder Ltd. He is also a former Ministerial Adviser in the Bannon Government in South Australia, where he advised on both mining and infrastructure issues. As a Special Counsel at Sparke Helmore Lawyers, Mark is primarily based in Melbourne, but also maintains a strong Sydney presence, and has an office there as well.

Mark is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Australia Post, and Chairman of its Board Human Resources Committee. He is also a Director of John Holland Engineering Pty Ltd.
