Susan leads the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team and is experienced in litigating a wide range of disputes across both business and government sectors. She commenced practice in 1991 and joined Sparke Helmore in January 2003.

The 2007-2008 edition of the Asia Pacific Legal 500 states, "Susan Bennett rates highly" and she is described in the 2006-2007 edition as "thorough, knowledgeable, practical and easy to deal with".

Susan has been involved in some of the largest commercial litigation matters over the past decade. She has extensive skills in the organisation and management of large and complex litigation and in electronic trials.

Susan's pragmatic approach to dispute resolution involves a clear understanding of clients' objectives, early resolution of disputes where possible and using alternative dispute processes where appropriate.

Susan has written articles and presents seminars particularly on dispute resolution processes, privilege, directors & officers duties, corporate & government document management, and class actions.

Susan is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and the International Bar Association. Susan is a mentor and member of the Steering Committee for the Lucy Mentoring Program, an initiative of the Office for Women, NSW's Premier Department.
